Our New President at America’s Car-Mart

All of America’s Car-Mart extends a warm welcome to Doug Campbell, our new President. In this role, Doug will lead our Operations and Procurement teams. A 25-year veteran of automotive sales and fleet services, Doug brings extensive industry and automotive experience to Car-Mart, and he will enhance our team with his leadership skillset.

Doug started his automotive career over summer breaks at the local dealership where his father worked after his 20-year career in the military. He’s held leadership positions within retail and corporate environments over the course of his career at Coral Springs Auto Mall, AutoNation, and Avis Budget Group. Doug is a board member of the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA). Doug studied Business Administration and Management at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville.

And now, he brings his extensive automotive expertise to Car-Mart. “I am honored to join the talented America’s Car-Mart leadership team as together we build on their more than four decades of achievements,” says Doug.

“Over the last 25 years, I have brought my passion for people and automotive to well-known brands,” he continues. “And I am thrilled for the opportunity to bring what I have learned to Car-Mart and their customers as we build for an exciting future.”

Why are you excited to join America’s Car-Mart?

The people! The most important reason is how enthusiastic both the Car-Mart executive team and board of director members are about people. I was struck by their consideration of and focus on Car-Mart’s associates and customers.

All great brands will always have customers as a cornerstone of their philosophy; however, they also have an equal level of enthusiasm regarding their associates. Not only was this evident very early in the screening process with Car-Mart, but it continued throughout our conversations by how thoughtful they were in their approach to how the company conducts its business. That’s when I knew there would be great alignment between how I felt personally and the company’s culture. To lead people, you have to lead with people.

In this new role, I’m more thrilled about the positive impact it has on the company’s culture, a responsibility I value and respect.

What are your hopes and dreams for the company?

Growth! From Car-Mart’s entrepreneurial spirit to a passion for both associates and customers, the goal is growth.

It’s unusual for a company this size to have the culture it does and have associates passionately embrace it and consistently deliver and make a difference for their customers. That’s why it’s important that we leverage the company’s mission, vision, and values as anchors in our quest to be the best-integrated auto sales and finance company.
