Why is Car-Mart changing its logo and tagline?

We believe that to better communicate the breadth and depth of our offerings and to more closely align with our company’s mission, vision and values, we needed to evolve and re-imagine our existing logo and tagline.

It’s been nearly 10 years since America’s Car-Mart changed its logo and tagline. As we thought about our purpose in serving hard-working Americans, we wanted a tagline that specifically defined what sets us apart from other used dealerships and what we offer our customers.

Our new tagline emphasizes those aspects of our history that customers have come to expect and appreciate from America’s Car-Mart. We take care of our customers from the time they walk onto our lots until they drive away with the title to their vehicle. Car-Mart is committed to its purpose of providing our customers with peace of mind and keeping them on the road.

How does the new logo and tagline ‘Keeping You on the Road’ define Car-Mart?

Car-Mart’s new tagline, ‘Keeping You on the Road’, is an all-encompassing definition of what Car-Mart delivers to its customers. It’s a commitment and a promise the company will do whatever it takes to provide customers with excellent service, care and compassion before, during and after the vehicle sale.

Our new tagline is proof positive that we go to work every day to take care of our customers. It celebrates our customer first focus and lets them know they have peace of mind when buying a quality, used vehicle at Car-Mart. The tagline also reflects our associates who helped us get where we are today.

We appreciate the opportunity we have to be a part of our customers’ car-buying journeys. We enjoy getting to know and love our customers. We’re there for them through the good times and the bad times. In the end, we’ll do whatever we can to keep them on the road – even when life twists and turns.

What was the process to create the new logo and tagline?

Car-Mart partnered with Stone Ward, a creative advertising agency based in Little Rock, Ark., to help us develop a brand logo and tagline that truly embodies who we are and what we offer the marketplace. We worked through several iterations of the tagline and logo, until resting on a few viable options. We then presented the options to our associates – letting them vote on their favorite logo and tagline. Upon conclusion of this collaborative process, it was our associates who chose the final brand logo and tagline.

What does the new America’s Car-Mart logo illustrate?

The new logo, while staying with Car-Mart’s historical red, white and blue color scheme, depicts a graphic of the open road, a uniquely American symbol, which conveys freedom and possibilities that come with owning a vehicle. The highway icon forms the letter “A” that signifies the American spirit.

What do you tell your customers about your new logo and tagline?

We’re not changing the direction of our business – rather, we’re more specifically defining what we stand for as a company. We believe a refreshed, distinct brand identity evokes a sense of trust and peace of mind, as well as representing our vision for the future.

How do Car-Mart’s associates bring the tagline ‘keeping you on the road’ to life for customers?

For starters, our associates take great pride in helping and serving their customers – providing excellent care before, during and after the sale. They appreciate the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of their customers and are committed to their success.

How long was the tagline, ‘Drive Easy’ in play at Car-Mart?

“Drive Easy” was launched in 2008 and served as Car-Mart’s tagline through December 2020. The meaning behind “Drive Easy” was to let customers know that customers could have confidence in their purchase when buying a quality, used vehicle at Car-Mart.

What is the evolution of Car-Mart’s taglines throughout the company’s history?

Since Car-Mart’s founding in 1981, Car-Mart selected taglines that reflected our purpose and our place in the used car market. Car-Mart’s first tagline was “We’re Growing Your Way”, which lasted through the 1980’s. In the early 1990’s, the tagline evolved to “America’s Largest” and then to “Committed to You” in the late 1990’s. “Drive Easy” launched in 2008.
